This past November, I saw an interesting class posted at The Websters in Ashland, Oregon for a needle felted gnome class. I knew how to needle felt, but I never worked with 3-D needle felting so I thought I would give it a try. I made a really cute gnome and named him Irving. Irving became my holiday mascot, appearing in print ads for all of my holiday shows and classes. I became inspired to experiment with more 3-D characters and came up with “The Goddess Series.” I made 6 Goddesses and named each one. Two of them were purchased, including my beloved Zelda the spitfire and Hortencia the exotic, before they could be photographed. Here are the rest of the Goddesses in my collection. Matilda the milk-maid, Petunia who is very prim and wears a beautiful beaded necklace by Jean Bakewell of Studio Designs, Sally who loves to wear hats and Mare the sea Goddess.
They can be purchased at my etsy shop, www.dreamweavingdesigns.etsy.com and at the Ashland Art Center where I can be found in my studio creating, teaching and having fun.
